GIRVANACA IS SHAWN GIRVAN

Shawn Girvan has always been some sort of performer. He began his performing “career” as a disc jockey at an Oldies station in Mobile, Alabama. From there he moved to Nashville to go to film school and attempt to make a Kevin-Smithesque-disillusioned-twenty-somethings-comedy and got as far as the trailer. He then went on to Chicago where he studied improv at The Second City, Improv Olympic (now I.O.), and The Annoyance Theater. He performed with his house improv team, Chopper, for over two years. His sketch group, Planet Terrance, was invited to perform at the Chicago Comedy Festival two years straight.

Along the way, Shawn did stand-up comedy, worked a lunch shift at Bennigans, and produced the highly acclaimed feature-length music documentary Couldn’t You Wait? The Story of Silkworm.

Shawn can tell stories, present workshops, and give your employees, members, or students an inspiring and entertaining session that helps anyone tap into the power of their story and their creativity.
