Shawn Girvan has been teaching creative writing for almost four years. He earned his M.F.A. in Creative Writing from Goddard College and teaches at one of the largest literary centers in the country — The Muse Writers Center. He also finds time to shape young, non-English major minds as adjunct faculty at Old Dominion University.

Shawn’s expertise is memoir and narrative nonfiction but can provide professional guidance and feedback in all genres, except for poetry. Shawn writes poetry - he does not teach it.
